Artist Series: Drew

This is my buddy Drew.

One day while thumbing through books and arguing for the sake of arguing about most things, we land on a killer debate.

Is he a musician?

Winter Mini Sessions | Pine Hill Farms

We had a lovely winter day surrounded by pine trees, celebrating first birthdays, engagements and the holidays. A wonderful way to spend my Sunday.

I also shared some of the ways I enjoy learning, and some of the knowledge I have acquired as a result. Buuuuut focus on the photos <3 Read More

A free arrow and a stable bow

My girl Meg, the mother, wife, and babe fox in this series is also a fellow creative.

I asked if I could weave deeply personal lessons learned into her family portraits, and she told me to let it rip.

So here is this gorgeous, growing family…aaaand some lessons from my first ego death.

the oak tree and the cypress grow

I flew into Phoenix, and floored it to the Grand Canyon just in time for sunset. Once the sun checked out, I continued north towards Utah.

I had the (almost) full moon shining through the pines to my left and small controlled fires to my right.

I will never forget this life changing 30 minutes. I was exhausted and starving, but so freaking happy. And that set the tempo for the entire trip. Read More

Mr. and Mrs. Bart Simpson

I absolutely love being the bad boy’s girl. My first time in this role was at the very tiny age of four.

I can still see his spiked hair and rat tail, his orange and black bike, and his shit eating grin. I loved him instantly. Read More

Autumn Mini Sessions | Soergel Orchards

Family portraits have become my favorite part of my career. It’s your kids. They’re that cool.

They are also funnier than most adults, more open to being thrown into the air, and they really appreciate the value of an M&M. Read More

As the stone of the fruit

I’m fortunate that I have a pretty crisp memory.

I can even recall the moment, and image that inspired me to become a photographer.

Here it is: Read More

the way and the wayfarers

I’ve been drawn to Joshua Tree for a long time.

In truth, I’m still seeking my Dad as a person, to his soul.

I lost him just as he started showing me his secret files. You know, the good stories, the trouble, the “Don’t tell Mom I told you this.” Frankly, I was also starting to show him my cards. I was finally getting honest advice because I started to include the details.

It became clear I’m like him, from mischief to music, our coffee and height. So to know more about him is to know more about myself. Read More

Brendan Fraser, and the Parterre de Broderie

I might be slightly responsible for the recent global pandemic. I know. A whopper.

I had a hunch this would be my favorite wedding of the year. I didn’t know it would also be my only wedding of 2020.

So in the middle of Phipps, from the bottom of my heart, I thought: “I wish every single wedding was just like this.”

8 days later, the world shut down. (Homer Simpson moonwalk into hedge.) Read More

Summer Highlight Reel

It was a great summer of portrait sessions, with friends from literally all chapters of my life. You just really have no idea when you befriend someone in 6th grade that you will photograph their family of five.

Or that buddy in college that you enjoy irritating people with, who’s got cupcakes and beer? Yeah, he will marry a beautiful woman and have twin daughters.

Life is cool. Read More
